June 8 6 O'clock

At 6 o'clock my husband and I were taking a walk with Bug, Monster, and Wrigley. We try to take a walk every evening. Bug usually rides his bike and Monster rides in her wagon. She really wants to walk, but she gets so distracted and our walks last five times as long as normal, so we try to convince her to ride in the wagon or stroller as often as possible :-)

June 7 Drink

My husband and I met some friends at the local bar for trivia night. This was my first time, and I was excited. My husband assured me there would be some math questions for me. That would probably be my only time to shine. His head is full of all that useful trivia knowledge...mine is just full of very important math knowledge.

Going into the final round, we were third place (out of ???) and we were pumped. The question had something to do with elections (not something I know AT ALL), and wanted to know which president had 500 something electoral votes to the other guys' 12 votes (ok it was worded so much better). We put down Roosevelt and brought it up. She asked which one and "Matt" said "Ummm, Teddy" and sat back down. Almost immediately after sitting down we realized (ok they guys realized) that it was FDR, but we were not allowed to change our answer :-( Had we actually thought about it for a minute, we would have WON!!! But we lost, didn't place, didn't win anything. How depressing, but we sure had a great time.

June 6 Hat

I LOVE this picture of Monster. She is turning into quite the little girly-girl! She loves her hat and her sunglasses. She spent most of the walk today trying to figure out how to fit the sunglasses and the hat on, but didn't have much luck. She ended up just switching every so often between the two! What a smart little girl :-)

June 5 Sign

CARS!!! I love the movie Cars (so do my kids), so when I saw this sign, I thought it would be perfect for my photo of the day. Bug loves Lightning McQueen, Mater, Finn, and the lemons. Monster loves Holly. We have almost every car action figure they make and the kids are always playing together with them. It is amazing how my son knows all of the names, not just the popular ones!!

June 4 Close Up

Here are few close-ups of my husband's Yamaha Vstar. He loves his bike and rides every chance he gets. I have been on a few times with him, but there is no back rest so I get a little nervous. It isn't a very big bike either, so we don't go far.

June 3 On Your Plate

We took the kids to their first baseball game. Go Silverhawks!!! They are just a minor league team, but the kids don't care. Bug and Monster were very excited about the popcorn. We made it about 2 1/2 innings before they got restless. We walked around a little, then let Bug play in the bounce house for a while. Monster was happy to watch her big brother play.

June 2 Empty

I drink at least one cup of tea a day! I love my mom's Chi tea she makes, but will settle for just about anything :-)

June 1 Morning

This is the last early morning drive I will be making for a while. Today is my last day of work before summer vacation, and I couldn't be happier!!! This year has been crazy, and I am glad it is over. I am looking forward to an amazing summer with my two kids, Bug and Monster.

May 31 Something Beautiful

Today was the last day with our students!! How beautiful is the school with no students :-) It is a beautiful thing to have all finals graded and my grade book uploaded. My room is packed up and ready for summer cleaning. Finally, the view of the school in my rear view mirror as i drive away. What a beautiful end to my day :-)

May 29 Number

3!!!!! That's my number and that's how many workdays I have before summer vacation!!! I am SOOOOO excited and ready. This has been a long and crazy drama filled year. I will be glad to put it behind me. Kids take finals tomorrow and Thursday and we have a teacher day Friday, then SCHOOLS OUT BABY!! :-)

May 28 The Weather Today

It has been HOT this weekend and today was no different. At 8 am it was already 82!! YIKES! I took the kids to the local Memorial Day Parade this morning and by the time it was over we were begging for the a/c. When we got home, Bug wanted to go for a walk. How could I say no...maybe I should have said no...it was 98 out! I can't really complain, the rest of the week is supposed to be in the 60s.

These are pictures from our walk. At least there was a nice breeze (love the picture of the flag blowing in the breeze).




























The top right picture is from the field behind our house. You can see the blue sky as well as all the dry grass. Below that is a picture of the sun. Below that is the temperature from my car (98). The bottom picture shows our grass...I tried to water it, but when it hasn't rained in over a week, it is kind of hard to keep it all alive. Oh well.

May 27 Sweet

I took the kids to the local zoo today and we saw this SWEEEEEEET peacock right in the path!! He had his fan out for a long time and even rattled it at one point. I first thought he might attack us, but he left us well enough alone. He finally put his fan down and moved off the path enough for us to pass.

May 26 12 o'clock

I was making lunch for the kids at 12 o'clock (chicken nuggets) so here is the clock on my stove.

I had big "dreams" for this shoot but ran out of time literally. I was going to find an old looking clock at a store and use that but oh well. Maybe next time. The more I look at my picture, the more I like it anyway :-)

May 25 Unusual

My hubby is out of town for the long weekend so I am responsible for taking care of our 105lb hyper lab, Wrigley. Feeding, watering, and giving him treats isn't too...walking him is a different story. He loves to run off his leash but I usually don't let him. When he is on his leash, he pulls you this way and that constantly. He never wants to stay on the road either...he would rather walk through the field. Needless to say, I don't take the kids with me on these "enjoyable" trips!!! This picture is "unusual" because it is very unusual for me to walk the dog!!

May 24 Something New

This is a picture of the bell on Bug's bike. Technically it isn't new (he got it for Christmas from his cousin) but I just found it and put it on his bike. So it is new to him :-)

It was an incredibly nice evening so the kids and I went for a nice ride around the neighborhood. Bug was so excited to have the bell!! He thought he was a "big guy" because of it :-)

May 23 Technology

Just a small sample of the daily technology I use in my classroom (oh and my nook). The top is a picture of the photocopier in the math office. The middle left is a picture of my graphing calculator and on the right is my Nook. The bottom left is one of the "clickers" my kids use to take quizzes and the right is my smartboard (LOVE my smartboard!!!)

I don't know how I would teach without all the technology!! It makes things faster and easier for me, and allows me to spend more time helping my students. My kids love playing with everything as well.

May 22 Pink

OK so this wasn't the most creative picture...oh well. Monster owns a ton of pink clothes, but she didn't have anything on today :-( My toes are pink but I already took a picture of them yesterday...

We had dinner at my father-in-laws house and he had just planted flowers, and pink ones at that!! So here is a second pic of something pink :-)

May 20 Something You Cant Live Without

Originally I was thinking my camera, but without my kids I would have nothing to take pictures of!!! I love my kids...sure I really enjoy when they spend time with grandma or grandpa, but I am always so excited to see them again :-) Bug and Monster are the only 2 things I truly couldn't live without (and I should probably add my husband to the list too, right?)

The photo challenge today is "Love". I love watching my amazing kids playing together and getting along. Monster really looks up to her big brother Bug. She wants to do everything he does. She asks to walk everywhere, but will only hold Bugs hand!
